DHIS2 Apps Sharing Settings - Common Errors

Frequent errors may manifest when the sharing settings are improperly configured, potentially resulting in complications when attempting to access to the Metadata or Data of the Objects.

Editing access level

When updating the access level for a user or user group, issues may arise if the permissions are modified exclusively for viewing. Such modifications may render the object unalterable, necessitating the creation of a helpdesk ticket to request a DHIS2 admin to re-add the user or user group (See Image 1).

After removing all access levels, any updates made to the object will not be applied, even though the Sharing Settings appear to save the change. However, upon reopening the app, you will observe that the changes were not applied.

It is advisable to utilize the Sharing Settings App initially on a test server before implementing any changes in the production data. Failure to do so may impact the workflow for users.
