PCA - HNQIS2 Programs Recommendations

As part of the support we're providing to country teams during the HNQIS 2.0 implementation process, we would like to make emphasis on some key topics that can help the End Users to improve the App use experience and that surely will avoid them, experimenting with unexpected behaviour.

After converting the HNQIS 1.X Programs to HNQIS 2.0 Programs, an important step precedes the completion of the process. This crucial step involves testing conducted by the country team. This testing is essential to identify any remaining issues and to verify that the checklists can be completed on the devices used for data entry, ensuring a successful implementation.

As part of our commitment to improve the experience with the PCA, HNQIS 2.0 and the PSI Fork App; we provide the following recommendations:

Hardware

To ensure the HNQIS 2.0 works properly, the mobile devices should have as minimum the specifications recommended as in DHIS2 official documentation Link. For a quick review, we listed here below those specifications.

• We recommend using the device only for data entry and not installing additional apps unrelated to DHIS2, if the device is for personal use, make sure that no other apps are running in the background.

Software (Apps)

• We recommend clearing Data and Cache when switching User accounts.

• As a general recommendation and as much as possible, the devices should not be used for other purposes than the H2 App. Therefore, no other software than necessary for the proper function of the App should be installed on it.

DHIS2 and PCA Settings

• To create Users accounts specifically dedicated to HNQIS2 Programs. Users with access to many Programs may encounter performance and synchronization issues when using the App.

• Assign only the required OUs that the User will be supervising with the App. If changes are required in this regard, i.e. adding more facilities to the Supervisor, or transferring him/her to another region, please post a request in the HelpDesk platform, so the System Administrator will take care of it timely.

• Backup the Program using the Backup/Restore features of the PCA when implementing significant changes.

• Set Up the Programs when a new version of the PCA is released, as sometimes the updates include improvements in the Program Rules and Analytics generation.

• Make sure that the Sharing Settings of the Program are correct, we recommend always configuring the Sharing Settings after performing the Set Up.

• Avoid changing the Competency Class settings of a HNQIS 2.0 Program too many times when using the PCA.

HNQIS 2.0 Programs

• As much as possible, avoid creating checklists that surpass 100 Data Elements. We recommend splitting the list in multiple Programs if the supervision context allows it.
