Organisation Unit Groups
Introduction
Within DHIS2 the location of the data (geographical context) is represented in organisation units. These can be health facilities, health workers, hospitals, etc. Organisation units are located within a hierarchy, also referred to as a tree. The hierarchy will reflect the health administrative structure and its levels.
These organisation units can also be grouped in organisation unit groups which can be used to mimic an alternative organisation hierarchy, extremely helpful when it comes to data reporting and other data outputs. These organisation unit groups can also be grouped into group sets.
Organisation Unit Group Sets
The MPHD project requires its awardees to organize their existing organisation unit hierarchy in a series of organisation group sets, specific to the project. Currently, the organisation units at the lowest level (health facilities) are to be organised in the following:
Organisation Unit Group Set | Organisation Unit Groups |
---|---|
MPHD - Type of Facility | MPHD - Health center/facility - Private/NGO/FBO |
MPHD - For-profit / not-for-profit | MPHD Private not-for-profit |
MPHD - Type of Network | MPHD Networked |
MPHD - Type of Service | MPHD Type of service: MNCH |
MPHD - Urban/ Rural | MPHD UR - Urban |
All organisation units that are part of the MPHD project must be categorized into all Organisation Unit Group Sets. One organisation unit group per set, meaning that, for example, an organisation unit cannot belong to MPHD UR - Urban and MPHD UR - Rural at the same time, however, it can belong to MPHD UR - Urban and MPHD Networked since they belong to different Organisation Unit Group Sets.
How to assign
To assign the organisation units that qualify to any of the Organisation Unit Groups, you can use the Assigned Helper App, available only to authorized users. To learn more about how to use it, please visit the Wiki we created for it, here.
Standardized Organisation Unit Group Sets
Type of Facility
There are MPHD awardees across multiple countries, therefore, there may be some confusion at the time of assigning the organisation units to an organisation unit group. The MKA team has standarized these definitions in the following:
