We are excited to announce the release of Locator2 Web Library v0.1, set to launch early next week. This version includes several new features and improvements designed to enhance user experience and functionality.
New Features
1. List View with Facility Information Card
Integration with DHIS2: Fetches facility information and renders pictures from DHIS2 using the new API connector. The API is running from a temporary machine in the AWS Experiments Organization.
Readable Opening Hours: Parses and displays opening hours in a user-friendly format. Uses new DHIS2 OU attribute.
2. Enhanced Map View (full support in Leaflet, pending issues for MapLibre)
Multiple Map Providers: Options include OSM, ESRI, and Google.
Diverse Map Layers: Choose from Roadmap, Aerial, Terrain, Hybrid, Traffic, Transit, Streetmap, Topography, and Dark layers.
Facility Pinning: Facilities are marked on the map layers, along with user location.
3. Responsive Design
Adaptive Layouts: Desktop view shows both map and list views; mobile view shows one pane at a time.
Map/List Switching: Users can switch between map view and list view using a floating button on the bottom.
4. Detailed View
Interaction: Activated by clicking 'Read More' in list view or facility icons on the map.
Comprehensive Details: Displays pictures, facility details, and information about providers working in the facility.
5. User Preferences
Application remembers the last selected mode and language.
6. Distance Calculation Options
Google API: If active, it will diplay the driving distance. It can be changed to walking or transic based calculation. Need google API with active credit card.
CrowDistance Function: For calculating radial distances between the User and the Facility
Known Issues
General
Animated Loading Icon: The icon is not displayed during loading.
MapLibre - facility clustering doesn’t work.
Desktop View
Map Rendering Issue: Right map pane does not render maps properly after resizing when 'Read More' or facility icons are clicked.
Facility Highlighting: Clicking 'Read more' does not highlight the facility on the map view.
Card Layout: some cards are missing after the third row.
