The Add Data Elements feature is supported for Tracker, Event and HNQIS2 Programs
There are two ways to create Data Elements using the PCA. The first way is by selecting existing Data Elements created using the Maintenance App, and now you can add them to the Programs.
Please remember, you must have permissions to view and Edit the selected Data Elements
The second way is creating the Data Elements using the PCA and automatically will be assigned to the Program and the selected Section.
Add Existing Data Elements
To Add Existing Data Elements, follow these steps:
Open the Program Stage Section Menu using the three dots located on the far-right
Select Add Data Element(s)
Select Existing Data Elements. The window will appear with the filter field and a table to display the results (See image 1).
Enter the desired parameter, remember you can search for Data Element Name, Data Element Short Name, Data Element Code and Data Element UID. Once the filter has been entered, Click on the Search button.
After filtering, check the desired Data Elements (See Image 2).
You can select more than one Data Element per search.
If the entered filter matches with more than 50 results, you can navigate to different pages by clicking on the rows.
Click on the Add Selected Data Element(s). The Data Elements will be added on the selected Section. The Section will be remarked with an Updated tag and an alert indicating the mount of Data Elements added.
Click on the Save Change button.
Add New Data Elements
Open the Program Stage Section Menu using the three dots located on the far-right
Select Add Data Element(s)
Select Create New Data Element. The Form to create New Data Elements will appear with the required fields (See Image 4).
Fill in the required fields and the desired optional fields:
Compulsory: Activating this option, the field must be filled in the Data Entry.
Display in Reports: Activating the display in reports. The Data Element will appear in the Stage Information after completing the Event.
Value Type: The Value Type in the DHIS2 Configuration will be listed in a dropdown, depending on the selected Value Type, the Field will have different appearance and the allowed Data.
