OpenHIM
OpenHIM is an interoperability layer that provides a central point where the exchange of data is managed. It is a middleware component designed to ease interoperability between disparate electronic information systems by providing secure communications and data governance as well as support for routing, orchestrating and translating requests as they flow between systems. We use OpenHIM for securing the HapiFHIR backend, as well as providing extra functionality. This is done via a custom mediator
