To add New Data Elements, follow these steps:

1. Open the Program Stage Section Menu using the three dots located on the far-right

2. Select Add Data Element(s)

3. Select Create New Data Element. The Form to create New Data Elements will appear with the required fields (See Image 4).

4. Fill in the required fields(*) and the desired optional fields:

   1. Compulsory: Activating this option, the field must be filled in the Data Entry.

   2. Display in Reports: Activating the display in reports. The Data Element will appear in the Stage Information after completing the Event.

   3. Value Type(*) : The Value Type in the DHIS2 Configuration will be listed in a dropdown, depending on the selected Value Type, the Field will have different appearance and the allowed Data.

   4. Option Set: The PCA allows adding New and Existing Option Sets to the Data Element.

   5. Aggregation Type: The option will be displaying in a dropdown depending the Aggregation Type configured on the server.

   6. Form Name(*): It will be the name displayed in the Data Entry. The Field length depending on the Program Data Element Prefix. The Sum of the two field must not exceed the 200 characters.

   7. Automatic Name, Short Name and Code: If this option is activated, the fields will be automatically filled in. To deactivate it, the fields will be displayed and must be filled in. The only optional field is the code.

   8. Description: Text to include information about how the data element is measured and what its purpose is.

   9. Legend Sets: Legends are utilized in applications like Maps to visually represent specific data elements using distinct icons. The PCA allows adding New and Existing Legend Sets.

   10. Add Icon and Color: The PCA allows customizing Data Elements, adding Icons and selecting colours.
