As PSI gets closer to health consumers, there is the need to collect, manipulate and store the data of this prospective or current patient in a format that is shareable not only with other health providers, partners (including MoH, regardless of the system that they use), but also with the client himself/herself. FHIR is by far the best answer to those incipient needs.
Furthermore, FHIR allows PSI to participate on the nacient FHIR solutions community, which it is developing various types of applications that provide specialised tools across the whole life cycle of a client, specially before they become a patient, or at the end of the life cycle, when a satisfied client becomes an advocate.
Last, FHIR enforces compliance and order in the way that PSI store data, making data analysis much simpler.
This section provide detailed information about how do we use FHIR resources at PSI: use cases, in particular FHIR mandatory properties , and vs. PSI mandatory properties (suggested or actually enforced).
